Join us for a Gayageum concert with Roa (HyunYoung) Lee, a composer, arranger, and Gayageum musician from Korea. The Gayageum is a traditional Korean zither-like string instrument.

Roa studied music in Korea and Toronto and her compositions blend traditional Korean music with elements from other musical genres. A member of the Labyrinth Ensemble and a teacher, Roa has performed and collaborated with many venues including Small World Music, the Aga Khan Museum, the Harbourfront Music Garden, the Four Season Center for the Performing Arts.

The concert will include classic, jazz and pop renditions with a 25-stringed Gayageum, while also showcasing the charm of traditional Korean music on a 12-stringed instrument. A Q&A session will follow the performance.
