L. M. Montgomery was born at Clifton, Prince Edward Island and spent her childhood days in the seashore farming settlement of Cavendish, which is the setting of many of her stories. Although still known to her readers as “L. M. Montgomery” she has for some years presided over a Presbyterian Manse in Ontario, for she is the wife of the Reverend Ewan Macdonald.
