David will focus on Indigenous Fusion in his talk. He will explore Indigenous cuisine through the eyes of an "urban Indian chef," sharing stories of his own introduction to Indigenous cuisine as a child growing up in downtown Toronto, and as a young, classically trained chef who discovered his culture through First Nations, Métis and Inuit friends in the Toronto Indigenous community. His stories will illustrate how culture shifts over time and place - particularly in light of global change. The experiences he shares as a chef, professor and TV show host will reveal an evolution in identity and a legacy.

David Wolfman, from Xaxli'p First Nation, has renewed Canada's culinary landscape and understandings of Indigenous and North American cuisine. Chef Wolfman is a professor of Culinary Arts at George Brown College. He also teaches workshops on Indigenous culinary practices, cultural tourism, and family food budgeting. He was a forerunner of Indigenous catering enterprises in Toronto. He was also the executive producer and host of "Cooking with the Wolfman." He co-authored ?Cooking with the Wolfman: Indigenous Fusion? with his wife, Marlene Finn. Chef Wolfman's goal is to share love of food, family and friendship and make cooking joyful. In his spare time, he enjoys being walked by his Boston Terrier.
