2023 Toronto Book Awards

2023 Book Awards, Celebrating our stories. Book covers of the five finalists

Established by Toronto City Council in 1974, the Toronto Book Awards honour books of literary merit that are evocative of Toronto. The 2023 awards offer $15,000 in prize money: finalists receive $1,000 and the winning author is awarded $10,000.

Wanda Nanibush and Georgiana Uhlyarik have been awarded the 2023 Toronto Book Award for their book Moving the Museum: Indigenous + Canadian Art at the AGO, published by Goose Lane Editions.

The City of Toronto and Toronto Public Library named the winner of the 2023 Toronto Book Awards at a prize ceremony at North York Central Library on October 10. Read the City of Toronto’s news release.
