*UPDATED – ALL BRANCHES OPEN* As a result of the power outage in the Bloor Dufferin area of the city, some library branches within the affected area will be closed today.

Updated:  On Saturday January 17 all Toronto Public Library branches are open.
At approximately 10 pm, January 15th, Toronto Hydro-Electric System was forced to cut power to one of its stations and as a result, residents and businesses within the following boundary are without power:
  • North - St. Clair Ave West
  • East - Spadina Ave
  • West - Jane Street
  • South - Queen Street West.
The following Library branches within the affected area will remain closed today.
  • Dufferin/St. Clair
  • High Park and
  • Palmerston
All other Toronto Public Library branches are open today.   
 
Residents are being urged to seek shelter with friends or family, or to go into City warming centres. As always, all libraries outside the immediate area or that have power will welcome members of the public.
