Buy a Book and Support the Library via torontopubliclibrary.ca

New program allows
library borrowers to also buy books

Toronto  (March 6, 2013) – Toronto Public Library is offering
customers the option to buy books via its website. When browsing for books, library customers will be
able to select a “buy now” option that will link them to Indigo’s website when
there is a copy available to buy. Additional retailers will be added shortly.

“We’re happy to offer this innovative
program. We know that many library customers do a mix of borrowing books from
the library and buying their own copies. It’s great to give those customers the
opportunity to purchase books and at the same time support their library,” said
Paul Ainslie, Chair of the Toronto Public Library Board.

The
library will receive a portion of the sale price, and will use these funds to
support its collections and services. More information about the program is available.

As
always, Toronto Public Library encourages Torontonians to borrow materials from
its collection of more than 11 million items including books, ebooks, CDs and
DVDs in 40 languages.
