TORONTO (March 12, 2013) – Toronto Public Library is again partnering with
the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC) and the City of Toronto’s
Economic Development & Culture Division (ECD) to deliver the popular
business incubation program, Business Inc.
in its branches. Business Inc. is aimed at helping entrepreneurs throughout the
city develop powerful business plans so they can realize their dream of owning
and operating their own business.
2013 is the third year the partners have offered this eight-week
program. Business Inc. participants will gain a better understanding of the
guiding principles required to launch their new business or to accelerate an
early stage business.
“I had a great idea for a
business, but had serious doubts my company would ever get off the ground.
Ideas can only take you so far. Then I came across information from Toronto
Public Library about the Business Inc. program. The decision to apply was a
pivotal moment for me and for my business,” said Wendy Fisher, a participant in
last year’s program. “I learned something invaluable from participating in this
course: knowledge is empowering. It builds confidence. With knowledge and
confidence, my dream will become a reality.”
At
the conclusion of the program, candidates receive a Business Seminar Series Certificate from the TBDC and may be eligible
to apply for a small business loan.
Interested entrepreneurs
can find information on the program being offered at Northern District, Albion
and Agincourt branches. The deadline for applications for this spring’s program is March
28. Find the application form and
