Toronto Public Library offers free classes for newcomer children
Toronto Public Library still has space in free English language classes for newcomer children this summer. English Can Be Fun, a free, enjoyable and educational English language program, encourages newcomer children to have fun while they learn more about the culture and history of Canada through lessons, games and activities.
English Can Be Fun! is a 6 week children’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program at 25 branches throughout the city. The program, which is free of charge, is offered to children between the ages of 7 and 10. It runs twice a week, starting on July 5th and ending on August 13th.
The goal of the program is to help children improve their English language skills and to develop an understanding and appreciation of the public library and its services. All programs are conducted by Ontario certified teachers with expertise in ESL. English Can Be Fun is funded by Friends of the Library.
To register, please contact the Program Coordinator, Susan Lai, by phone at (416) 395-5953, or by email at slai@torontopubliclibrary.ca. More information is also available on our website.
