Relocated branch to be double in size
Toronto (Monday, January 12, 2009) - On Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 5 p.m., Jane/Sheppard Branch will close permanently at the Jane/Sheppard Mall location (2721 Jane Street). Library customers can look forward to the opening of a brand new Jane/Sheppard Branch, located at 1906 Sheppard Avenue West, less than half a kilometre east of the original location.
During the brief closure period, customers can return library materials to any Toronto Public Library branch and pick up holds at York Woods Branch (1785 Finch Avenue West, 416-395-5980).
Other nearby branches include Black Creek Branch (North York Sheridan Mall, 1700 Wilson Avenue, 416-395-5470), Downsview Branch (2793 Keele Street, 416-395-5720) and Woodview Park Branch (16 Bradstock Road, 416-395-5960).
Access to Toronto Public Library services is also available through the regular Bookmobile stops in the community, every Wednesday, 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at Firgrove, 1 Dune Grassway and every Monday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Needle Firway, 5 Needle Firway.
Opening March 2009, the new 7,000 square foot neighbourhood library will be double the size, have a refreshed collection and feature many new library service enhancements for the community to enjoy.
The relocation and building of a new Jane/Sheppard Branch is part of Toronto Public Library’s ongoing building revitalization plan. In 2009, Torontonians will benefit from the renovation and reopenings of Jane/Sheppard Branch, Kennedy/Eglinton Branch, Bloor/Gladstone Branch and Thorncliffe Branch.
