New Toronto Public Library Foundation Tribute Giving Program Lets People Give the Gift of the Library

Library lovers can send unique cards showcasing library branches and special collections in tribute to loved ones

TORONTO (February 5, 2013) – In time for Valentine’s Day, the Toronto Public Library Foundation launches a revamped Tribute Giving program – allowing library lovers and the general public to give the gift of the Library to loved ones, for Valentine’s Day and for all other occasions throughout the year.

“From birthdays, to weddings, holidays and other occasions - or to honour the memory of a loved one - our new Tribute Giving program provides a special opportunity to make a donation in the name of a person you cherish and in turn, help enhance community spaces, collections and programs at Toronto’s Library,” said Heather Rumball, President, Toronto Public Library Foundation.

For a donation of $10 or more, donors can choose from a broad range of greeting cards that showcase images of library branches and images from the library’s Special Collections. The cards can be personalized with a message – and will be sent to the recipient by mail or email.
