Toronto Public Library’s Coffee, Beer & Mosh Pits exhibit features rare and unique items from the library’s Special Collections
TORONTO (Friday, February 7, 2014) -Toronto Public Library is pleased to announce a new exhibition in the TD Gallery, located on the main floor of the Toronto Reference Library. Coffee, Beer & Mosh Pits is now open and runs until April 19, 2014.
Featuring rare and unique items from the library’s Special Collections, including posters, photographs and film footage, Coffee, Beer & Mosh Pits explores Toronto’s vibrant popular music scene from the 1960s to the present day. Photos of legendary artists such as Joni Mitchell, Rush and Buffy Sainte-Marie and famous locations such as the El Mocambo Tavern, El Patio and the Mynah Bird are sure to create a sense of nostalgia among the many Torontonians who were active in the music scene during the 60s, 70s and 80s. The exhibit also features many performance photos on loan from the Toronto Star entertainment photograph archives.
