Toronto Public Library Announces E-Writer in Residence Program

Author Gary Barwin will mentor young aspiring
writers online

 

TORONTO (Friday, November
1, 2013)
- Toronto Public Library welcomes acclaimed author Gary Barwin as its 2013 E-Writer
in Residence. The E-Writer in Residence program offers aspiring young writers an
opportunity to gain valuable
feedback and expert advice on their work online.

 

Toronto
teens ages 12-19 are encouraged to submit their
creative writing online for feedback from Gary.
They can exchange ideas with the author and other young writers on Gary’s blog posts. The program ends on
November 23, 2013.

 

Gary
Barwin is an accomplished writer, composer, multimedia artist, and educator. His
young adult novel, Seeing Stars, was shortlisted for the
Canadian Library Association Young Adult Book of the Year and the Crime
Writer’s Association Arthur Ellis Award. His picture book, The Magic Mustache, was noted as one of
the year’s top ten by Macleans Magazine.
