The eh List, Toronto Public Library’s acclaimed Canadian author series, returns in its fifth year with a lineup of award-winning Canadian novelists including Scotiabank Giller Prize winners Joseph Boyden and Linden MacIntyre; and Frances Itani, winner of the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize and a finalist for the Dublin IMPAC Award.
In addition to new and recent fiction from Boyden (Three Day Road, Through Black Spruce, The Orenda), MacIntyre (The Bishop’s Man, Why Men Lie, Punishment) and Itani (Deafening,Tell) the eh List features new fiction from Charles Foran (Planet Lolita) Linda Holeman (The Devil on Her Tongue) and Martha Baillie (The Search for Heinrich Schlögel). Claire Cameron joins the series with Bear: A Novel, and comedian Ward Anderson arrives with his novel I’ll Be Here All Week.The fall season launches September 9th with international bestseller Linwood Barclay and mystery readers get another fix on crime fiction in November with Maureen Jennings, the scribe behind GlobalTV’s Murdoch Mysteries.
In non-fiction, Michael Harris’ Party of One deconstructs the reign of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, ever popular CBC Quirks and Quarks host Bob McDonald presents Canadian Spacewalkers: Hadfield, MacLean and Williams, Jack Granatstein recounts the battle for Vimy Ridge in The Greatest Victory, and Allan Levine celebrates the sights and sounds of our city in Toronto: Biography of a City.
Also appearing in the series are Alison Pick, Elsa Poulsen, Roy Henry Vickers and Robert “Lucky” Budd, and Eric McCormack.
On September 18, the eh List salutes 25 years of The Word on the Street with four outstanding Canadian authors: Emma Donoghue, Anthony De Sa, David Bezmozgis and Russell Wangersky.
