Toronto’s Top Sonic Radicals Make Some Noise in the Stacks

A Free Evening of Improvisation, Chance Encounters and
Audio Experiments

 

TORONTO (Thursday, July 25, 2013) – Make Some Noise heats up the
Bloor/Gladstone Branch this summer.   Top
indie improvisers will perform in different parts of the library, broadcasting
wirelessly to the main lobby where audience members can create their own sound
mix.  The collected sound bites from
these performances will then be reconstructed into a new composition.

 

The evening is presented in partnership with Offerings magazine and will include
performances by 11 artists including Allison Cameron, William Davison, Carl
Didur, Ryan Driver, Paul Dutton, Christine Duncan, Mayo On’ry, Luis Hernandez,
Alia O’Brien, Brodie West and Andrew Zukerman.

The Make Some Noise - Take Some Noise program brings
the library's local music collection of more than 1,200 CDs to life in the
stacks of library branches. It provides people of all ages an opportunity to access
local independent music as part of the library’s ongoing efforts to making
culture more accessible to everyone in the city.

music store and Exclaim! magazine
continue to provide invaluable contributions that help the library support and
expand access to local music in Toronto.
