Service Update
The Oakwood Village Library & Arts Centre will undergo a state of good repair. The renovation will bring much needed accessibility updates to the building, such as accessible entrance, washrooms, and water fountains. There will also be a refresh to shelving, seating, and the interior of the building.

About the Renovation
The State of Good Repair will:
- revitalize all public service areas on the first and second floor
- redesign the current floor layout to provide flexible spaces
- add a KidsStop play area
- replace all the windows
- increase the number of washrooms
- incorporate customer service improvements and efficient staff spaces
Community consultations
In 2025, we held community consolations to inform the final proposal. We met with 4 focus groups: Adults, Teens, Middle Schooler and Parents/Caregiver 0-5. We hosted 2 consultations for the general public: in branch and online. A survey was created and circulated to community members to learn more about this project and gather feedback.
Next steps
The Oakwood Village Library & Arts Centre, a state of good repair project, was approved at the TPL Board meeting on May 26, 2025. The branch is expected to close Fall 2026 and take approximately 18 months to 2 years to complete.
