About IBBY
Founded in Zurich, Switzerland in 1953, the IBBY organization is composed of over 80 Sections all over the world, including Canada. It represents countries with well-developed book publishing and literacy programs, and other countries with only a few dedicated professionals who are doing pioneer work in children’s book publishing and reading promotion. An important goal is to give children everywhere access to books with high literary and artistic standards, including disabled young people.
