Reserve a Computer

The library provides public computer workstations at all 100 branches. Using your library card and PIN, reserve computer time in advance online, by phone or in a branch. Unbooked computers may be used on a drop-in basis.

Computers can be booked up to three days in advance. Customers have the option of booking the next available computer in their preferred branch or booking their preferred computer at a specific time. Customers have a 10-minute grace period to begin their session before it is cancelled.

Please note:

We’ve changed how Bookings work!

Use BOOK NOW to book the next available computer in your branch. The system will provide a view of all currently available computers to select from.

Use BOOK FOR LATER to book any computer later on the same day or up to three days in advance. You can select your preferred computer by Computer Number if it's available at your chosen time.

If you need help making a reservation online, please call or go into any library branch.

More about public computers

Express computers

Looking to use a computer for 30 minutes or less? Most branches have at least one express computer available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. Library card or guest pass required.

Guest passes

No library card? No problem! Request a guest pass in person at any library branch to use a computer for up to two hours, subject to availability.

Digital Innovation Hubs

Access professional-grade digital design technology and software on a Mac or Windows computer in one of our 10 Digital Innovation Hubs.

Public computer safety

Each computer is automatically reset and erased after every session. We recommend bringing a USB stick for saving and managing data during your service.

Children's computers

Children's computers can only be reserved using a child's library card. In keeping with the library's practice of providing age-appropriate materials for children in safe and welcoming environments, designated children's computers with filtered Internet access are available in the children's areas of branches.

Children are also entitled to make use of the unfiltered Internet access available on adult computers and are able to reserve adult computers with their cards. For more information, please see the library's Public Computing and Internet Use Policy.
