1998 Operating Budget Monitoring Report
The Board received for information the 1998 Operating Budget Monitoring Report for the period ending October 31, 1998. This report outlines the Board's financial position for the year-to-date.
1999-2003 Capital Budget
The Board received for information the 1999-2003 Capital Budget - Libraries - Analyst Notes- For Review with CAO/CFO and Library Services - 1999-2003 Capital Works Program Reports. The Board will ask the Budget Committee to move the reconstruction of Eatonville from 2000 to 1999.
Harmonization of Room Rental Policies and Practices
The Board received the Harmonization of Room Rental Policies and Practices Report. In the past, all seven former library systems had used separate criteria for rental space in library buildings. Further investigation is needed on the City's position on room charges before staff can bring forward new policies for Board approval.
Eglinton Square Neighbourhood Branch Lease Renewed
The Board approved the signing of the lease for Eglinton Square Neighbourhood Branch for a term of five years, January 1, 1999 to December 31, 2003, with one additional renewal term of five years.
Award of Tender - 281 Front Street East Property for Bibliographic Services Centre
The Board awarded Struct Con Construction the contract to complete all renovations at 281 Front Street East, as described in drawings and specifications, for a total cost of $384,000, excluding GST.
Award of Tender - Parkdale Neighbourhood Branch
The Board also awarded Alpeza General Contracting Inc. the contract to complete all renovations at Parkdale Neighbourhood Branch as described in drawings and specifications, for a total cost of $594,750.89, including GST.
Bank Signing Authorities
The Board approved the signing authority for the Toronto Public Library as follows:
That:
- Any two of the City Librarian; Director, Administration; Senior Manager, Finance; and Manager, Accounting be authorized to sign Toronto Public Library Board disbursement cheques and make appropriate changes to Board bank accounts.
- Any one of the City Librarian; Director, Administration; Senior Manager, Finance; and Manager, Accounting be authorized to conduct all other Board banking requirements by telephone and/or fax.
