What did we learn in 2023/2024 with Ontario Bridge data?

  • Libraries play a crucial role in connecting communities to digital services.
  • Those using the library for internet access were much more likely not to have access at home compared to the general population.
  • Library technology helps reduce social isolation and is used by 56% of customers to establish and maintain social connections.
  • Library technology services support economic resilience by helping to advance career development and employment outcomes.
  • Impacts of library technology services were the highest for equity-deserving groups, as well as those in Northern and rural communities.
