Audition Listings

We work with external arts organizations to share audition opportunities in Toronto. Artists can explore upcoming plays, musicals and other performance opportunities through this curated service.

Plays and musicals are available at the Arts Department Desk on the 5th floor of the Toronto Reference Library.

Explore current audition opportunities available to Toronto’s arts community. These listings are provided by external organizations and reflect a range of disciplines, experience levels and project types. Opportunities are updated as new information becomes available.

Scripts are available for reading on a first-come basis.

Opportunity 1: Scarborough Players

Show summary: Nick Dear’s 2011 stage adaptation of Frankenstein retells Mary Shelley's gothic tale primarily from the Creature's perspective. It focuses on the Creature's childlike birth, brutal abandonment by Victor Frankenstein, his learning through kind and cruel encounters, and his final vengeful quest for a mate.

    Matinees are October 11, 18 and 24, 2026 at 2 pm

Partner submissions and guidelines

We welcome submissions from Toronto arts organizations interested in sharing audition listings and performing arts opportunities with the city’s creative community. This free audition listings service is open to any theatre, musical theatre, dance or opera company, professional or community-based, holding auditions in the Greater Toronto Area.

Submission guidelines

To submit an audition, please send an email to trlarts@tpl.ca with 'Audition Listing' in the subject line. Include the following information:

  • Theatre company name
  • Title of production and description
  • Rehearsal and performance dates
  • Audition dates
  • Audition requirements
  • Character descriptions
  • Hyperlink to audition listing and/or PDF document

This service supports the Toronto Public Library’s drama collections. To be listed, your script must either be in the Library’s collection or you must provide a hard copy to the Arts Department at the Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street, 5th floor.

PDFs may be reformatted by the library to meet accessibility and display standards. The library reserves the right to edit or decline submissions that do not meet these guidelines.
