Woodside Square Branch Relocation and Expansion

About the project

Toronto Public Library is preparing plans to relocate and expand the Woodside Square branch to a new location within the Woodside Square Mall at 1571 Sandhurst Circle.

The new branch location will expand to over 13,000 square feet, which is a 38% increase in space.

The renovation of the branch will provide:

  • a welcoming, accessible layout with areas for adults, teens and children
  • more seating and spaces for reading, quiet study, individual work and group collaboration
  • a KidsStop for young children and their caregivers
  • a welcoming teen area and Youth Hub space
  • larger, flexible spaces for library programs, meetings, and community events
  • computers and digital equipment for public use.

The Woodside Square Branch will remain open while the new location is under construction.

Next steps

Ken Fukushima Architecture has been selected to design the new branch. Construction will start in 2027 with a completion in late 2028.
