Digital Innovation Hubs provide you with access to a range of specialized equipment and computer software for in-library use. Staff are available to help walk you through use and troubleshoot challenges.

Computer hardware and software

Digital Innovation Hubs offer Windows and Mac computers with industry standard and open source design and creation software. Computers can be booked online on our Reserve a Digital Innovation Hub Computer page.

Hardware

Equipment

Digital Innovation Hubs let you access a range of specialized equipment for in-library use, including Wacom Cintiq graphic tablets, External USB Blu-ray drive, Arduinos, and Raspberry Pis.

How to use in-library equipment

To use equipment, talk to staff at a Digital Innovation Hub.

  • A valid Toronto Public Library card is required.
  • You will need to complete and sign an equipment loan form before you can check out equipment. Customers under the age of 18 need to have the form signed by their parent or guardian in person.
  • Equipment can be checked out for up to two hours and renewed only if available.
  • Full replacement cost is charged for lost or damaged equipment.

Scanning & Digitization

Scan materials such as photographs, artwork, and design documents in high resolution, or convert VHS tapes to digital files. Then enhance, edit, and integrate your digitized content into creative projects using our available tools and software. Please ensure you do not infringe on any copyright or intellectual property rights when using this service.
